If you have every wanted to journey to remote tropical islands away from the many influences of western life and see the true Polynesian culture thriving for the community rather than for the tourism industry, then Tuvalu is for you. Because of its isolated location in the Pacific Ocean Tuvalu only receives a small handful of tourists every year.

Tuvalu is the second least populated country in the world with only 10,000 people. The country consists of 4 tropical reef islands and 5 beautiful coral atolls. Tuvalu has only one hotel, the Vaiaku Lagi, in the countries capital Funafuti but does have a number of villas and lodges located around the country which offer accommodation to suit any budget.

The Tuvaluan people still follow many traditional practices and have a strong cultural background which has allowed them to thrive on these remote, isolated islands for thousands of years. Tuvalu is one of the last non-commercialized nations in the Pacific allowing visitors to discover a real sense of traditional Polynesia and to learn more about this unique culture.

Tuvalu is very special and in recent years has been the focus of many climate changing issues. With the highest point in the country only 5 metres above sea level any rise in the world’s sea levels threaten to sink the island and force its people to move elsewhere. It is important that we do everything we can to save these amazing islands and people.

We look forward to seeing you
