The popularity of this group of islands is really growing amongst tropical island travelers. The opportunity is there to travel by tours around the islands or independently, whatever suits you! Vava’u is at the most northern aspect of the Tongan Islands, close to the equator. Therefore you can expect warmer temperatures and humidity of about 80%. The main island of Vava’u is adorned with beautiful white tropical beaches on one side, while huge cliffs dropping straight into the sea grace the other.

There are two airlines flying daily from Nuku'alofa the capital of Tonga to Vava'u (4 flights per day) some are via Ha'apai. For more of an adventure you can get to Vava’u via a 24 hour ferry trip from Nuku'alofa. Once you arrive you have taxis and rental cars at your disposal.
