Upolu is the main island of Samoa and also home to Apia, the capital of the country. Upolu has a highway which follows the coast around the island as well as some roads which cross the interior of the island, perfect for exploring.
The interior of the island is covered in dense jungle, green volcanic peaks and plantations. The beaches around the island have beautiful white sands and clear warm water. Enjoy a number of water activities such as snorkeling, surfing, diving, kayaking, sailing, and boating or just relax and cherish the peace and quiet.
Vava’u is one of the nicest beaches on Upolu. It is divided in two by a huge outcrop of rock covered in tropical forest. The beach has crystal clear waters and is truly amazing. Vava’u is great for swimming, snorkeling and diving.
On the southwest side of Upolu there are many traditional fishing villages. The villages are excellent places to learn more about the Samoan culture and way of life. The locals will be happy to help you.
