Kauai is the oldest, fourth largest and most northern of the Hawaiian Islands and is also known as the ‘Garden Isle’. The centre of the island is considered one of the wettest areas in the world and has resulted in the creation of deep valleys, high canyons, natural waterfalls and tropical rainforest.
Kauai is a huge island and has many parks, beaches and attractions for you to visit during your holiday. On the north side of the island you have Anini beach, Hanalei bay, Kee beach, Lumahai beach and Honopu valley. On the west side of the island you can visit Polihale State park, Kalalau lookout, Kekaha Beach park and Salt pond beach park. Of interest in the south is Kipu Kai beach, Kukiolono Park, Mahaulepu beach, Poipu beach, Prince Kuhio Park and the famous Shipwreck beach.
In the Lihue or Kalapaki region on the east coast you can venture to Hanamaulu Beach Park, Kalapaki beach, Lydgate state park, Ninini running waters beach or Niumalu Beach Park.
Kauai has so many activities for you to enjoy on your holiday that you will have no problem finding things to see and do. The golf courses are considered some of the best in Hawaii with challenging course surrounded by sheer beauty. You can explore the interior of the island on one of the many horseback treks that journey up the lush tropical valleys. Spend a day big game fishing on one of the many charter boats and chase Marlin, Ahi, Ono and Aku species. Or just relax on the beach soak in the sun and enjoy the peace and quiet.
