Tahiti
Tahiti

Tahiti is the largest French Polynesian island, located in the archipelagos of the Society Islands in the southern Pacific Ocean. An archipelagos is a chain or cluster of islands and for the Society Islands this includes Tahiti, Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine, Raiatea and Taha’a.

The capital of Tahiti is Papeete on the northwest coast, the doorway to the island. Tahitians are French citizens and speak both French and the traditional Tahitian language.

Tahiti is well known for its picture perfect jagged peaks, thriving rain forests, overwater bungalows, warm crystal-clear lagoons, white aswell as unique black sand beaches, and the vast colours and species of underwater life. You will be welcomed with open arms and warmth by your Polynesian hosts, and will fall in love with the culture, music, dance, romance and flowers. This makes this the world’s most desirable honeymoon destination.

Recently in Tahiti there has been a strong drive to revive traditional culture which has slowly been lost over the years. Now you will find far more traditional art work, carving, tattooing, music, dance and food. You will wooed by beautiful ukulele tunes, a rainbow of hibiscus and frangipani, and mouth-watering tropical islands tastes. Black pearls are also in abundance here, with a strong farming trade, both locally and overseas.

Accessibility is a real strength of Tahiti. Regular flights operate in and out of Papeete by a number of different carriers. The advantage of choosing Tahiti is that you can either fly there directly or have it as a stop-over on the way to or from Europe, as Air New Zealand stops in Papeete when flying between Auckland (New Zealand) and Los Angeles (USA).

Come discover the magic of Tahiti for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

Araua'e - see you soon
