Yasawa Islands are located to the west of the main island of Viti Levu and offer a relaxed atmosphere and a feeling of being away from it all. Yasawa has tropical secluded beaches, traditional fishing villages, and the opportunity for you to stay in a unique Fijian thatched bungalow or bures.
The Yasawa group was only opened up to land based tourism in 1987 by the Fijian Government. Prior to this only a small number of cruise operators where able to visit the islands and passengers had to stay aboard the ships. Today there are many different accommodation options to choose from to suit any budget.
Many of the islands in the group are very similar with wonderful beaches, many island walks to explore and great diving and snorkeling. The further north you move in the Yasawa group the more isolated the resorts and accommodation become and there are less people around making it ideal if you are looking for peace and quiet.
There are a number of operators that run small ship cruises around the Yawasa group allowing you to explore the sheltered lagoons, remote beaches and traditional villages. Yacht charters are also very popular.
Why not come and visit the Yasawa Islands and find out why they are so special.
