The North Coast of Viti Levu, also known as the Sunshine Coast, offers secluded tropical beaches and has many scenic mountain ranges with tracks and paths to explore, including Fiji’s largest mountain Tomainivi. Most of the walks can be done with a guide or tour group.
The large mountain ranges are included in many Fijian myths and legends. Here you will find many traditional Fijian villages including Navala Village which boasts over 100 thatched roof houses or bures. There are also a number of rural market towns along the coast selling local produce, arts, etc. Ideal for buying supplies for your stay.
There are very few hotels, resorts and tourists attractions along the coast and very few tourists. For some this makes the area more desirable. On the North Coast you will experience the true traditional Fiji, much of it untouched by development.
Nanau-i-Ra Island is located 10 minutes from the mainland on the North Coast and is an ideal spot to spend a day or two before returning to Viti Levu. The island offers some of Fiji’s best snorkeling and most prized archaeological sites. Best of all you can walk around the island in under a day.
Why not venture away from the crowds and come and see the real Fiji.
