Kadavu Island - Fiji
Kadavu Island - Fiji

Kadavu Island is located about 100 km south of Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu. With its high volcanic peaks, tropical rainforest, and many bays Kadavu islands offers the perfect Fijian getaway.

Kadavu is home to many of Fiji’s native animals and birds, including several endemic bird species only found on Kadavu. These include the Kadavu Parrot (kaka), the Whistling Dove, the Honeyeater and the Fantail.

Kadavu has about 12,000 locals spread across 70 small fishing villages around the island. There are very few roads on Kadavu and the most popular and easiest method of transport is by small boat. Boat trips between villages and day tours are available and are an ideal way to meet the locals and learn more about the traditional Kadavu culture.

At the northern point of Kadavu Island you will find the world famous ‘Great Astrolabe Reef’ which over stretches 30 km. Here you will find excellent diving and snorkeling amongst the hard corals, sea caves, ship wrecks and tropical marine life.

A visit to Kadavu will be an experience you will remember for a lifetime.
